Prosecutors have summoned Son and other suspects to investigate an alleged child abuse case at the SON Soccer Academy, run by Son Heung-min's father, Son Woong-jung.

The Chuncheon District Prosecutor's Office summoned Son, Coach A, and three others for investigation under the Child Welfare Act yesterday (Feb. 2) for suspected child abuse.

They are suspected of physically or mentally abusing B-gun, a child belonging to the academy.

During the prosecution's investigation, they reportedly gave statements that did not differ from their original statements.

In mid-April, the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency sent three people, including Son, to the prosecutor's office on charges of child abuse.

"I never said or did anything that was not predicated on love for children," he said, adding, "The facts of the complainant's allegations are different from the truth, so I am actively cooperating with the investigation without distorting or hiding the facts."
